Borambola Shed House

Our clients came to us with a design at preliminary plan stage, after estimating the project we worked closely with the clients and building designer to tweak the design for more efficient and cost-effective construction along with some small but impactful aesthetic changes.

The home is in a picturesque rural location on the site of a pre-existing family home. We carefully navigated a timeline with the clients to sell, remove and clean up the site of the original weatherboard dwelling so we could begin construction shorty after, as much as possible limiting the length time the family was living off the property and paying rent.

The home is inspired by the form and materials of an old corrugated iron shed. Using a combination of reclaimed bricks- salvaged from the pre-existing home, recycled timber, burnished concrete and zinc corro we were able to achieve the balance of rustic farm structure meets modern minimalist farmhouse that the clients desired.

The home features four very generous sized bedrooms plus a full size study, two bathrooms with separate PDR/WCs, large open living/kitchen/dining plus a second large living space. The incorporated double carport features large salvaged timber posts and raking ceilings

The homeowners had a bold vision and it’s been such a pleasure working with them to bring this home to life.
