Two Wins for Lancaster Homes at the 2026 HIA ACT/Southern NSW Awards

We’re thrilled to share that Lancaster Homes has taken out two categories at this year’s HIA ACT/Southern NSW Housing and Kitchen & Bathroom Awards: Country Home and HIA Professional Medium Builder.
These awards bring together the best residential work from Canberra, the South Coast, the Riverina and beyond, so to be recognised alongside such talented builders and designers is a genuine honour for our whole team.
Country Home
Some sites make building easy. This one asked a lot of us. Set in Governors Hill Estate, the home sits on a highly exposed, triangular corner block with a three-metre fall across the building pad, and all four sides are on show to the surrounding streets. There was no “back” to hide behind, so every elevation had to be resolved with the same care as the front.
Rather than forcing the land flat, we worked with it. A split-level design follows the natural slope, keeping cut and fill to a minimum and grounding the home in its site, while creating generous living spaces with an easy connection to the outdoors.
The judges recognised exactly what we hoped this home would show: that a challenging site, handled thoughtfully, can become a home’s greatest strength. Thank you to our clients for trusting us with it.
HIA Professional Medium Builder
This award looks beyond a single project to the business as a whole. The judges acknowledged our focus on high-end custom homes, our collaborative way of working with clients, architects and designers, and the early construction advice, detailed budgeting and buildability input we bring before a build begins. They also noted the in-house interior design and immersive technology that help our clients see and shape their home well before it’s built.
Last year we were named Professional Small Builder, so moving up to the Medium category reflects how far our team has grown, while holding firm to the standards that got us here. This win also makes us a finalist at the 2027 HIA Australian Housing Awards, and we can’t wait to represent the Riverina on the national stage.
Celebrating our Riverina building community

One of the best parts of the night was seeing so many familiar faces from Wagga Wagga and the Riverina in the room. A big congratulations to our fellow local businesses who were there representing the region: Harrisons Joinery, Riverina New Homes, Jamie Carroll Constructions, TG Homes, G.J. Gardner Homes Wagga Wagga, Prefabulous and Blencowe Homes.
To be named a finalist at this level is an achievement in itself, and to those who took home awards on the night, well done. It’s a proud moment for our city and a reflection of the quality being built right across the Riverina. We’re lucky to work alongside such a talented local industry.
Thank you
To our clients, who trust us with their homes; to our trades and suppliers, whose craftsmanship sits behind every detail; and to our team, who bring care and pride to every build: thank you. These awards belong to all of you.
